’Soup & Study’ is a group that is open to all who wish to enjoy a time of friendship and fun – we meet every Thursday at 12 noon in Friendship House (the portacabin next to the vicarage), starting with a bowl of soup and freshly made bread, followed by a time of studying a few verses from the Bible and ending with a time of prayer. If you’d like to join us please feel welcome
– you’re welcome to give Rev David a call on 0115 932 2402 or Rev Rachel on 0115 972 7275 beforehand if you wish to know more.
Glow Worm for God
At a recent ‘Soup & Study’* we were looking at Ephesians chapter 5 in which St Paul encourages us to ‘Live as children of light’. It was pointed out by one member that we do not reflect the light, rather the light shines out from within us, much like a Glow Worm.
This prompted the lovely thought that Christians are called to be:
Glow Worms for God
Another member then pointed out that glow worms only glow in the dark, so as Glow Worms for God we are to go into the dark places of this world so that Christ’s Light might shine in the darkness.
Let us all rejoice in being Glow Worms for God!
